March 6, 2008 - Important Update:
Joint Council has received the wonderful
news that as of April 1st, the Holiday Inn on the Hill will be called
the Liaison Capitol Hill, An Affinia Hotel. This change will NOT
affect standing reservations, nor did it alter the process for making a
hotel reservation within the now-full Joint Council room block. In
addition, there are no changes to the 415 New Jersey Avenue NW address
associated with the hotel.
Attendees will receive
the room and overall experience upgrades associated with the Affinia
brand, while paying rates associated with the former brand of the
Holiday Inn. Visit the Affinia website at
http://www.affinia.com
or read the press
release to learn more about their signature Affinia Experience.
The name change will
benefit Conference attendees by introducing them to the Affinia
experience. However, participants may need to use both hotel names
when taking cabs or making plans with others in the DC area. Given
that the Holiday Inn on the Hill is a very established DC hotel and that
the official change is occurring just weeks before our event, many in
Washington, DC (including cab drivers) may not be aware of the name
change upon your arrival. The address, however, will remain the same.
March 5, 2008 - Important Update: Joint
Council has received word that our Conference hotel is completely
full for the dates of our event, both within and outside of the
Joint Council room block. Joint Council has contacted multiple hotels in
the surrounding area to pursue overflow options, but these hotels are
also full due to the National Cherry Blossom Festival occurring during
the same week.
If you have not yet
secured accommodations for the 2008 Conference, we strongly advise you
to contact additional hotels as soon as possible.
We suggest that
attendees consider hotels outside of the immediate DC area, as several
parts of Northern Virginia and Maryland will be only a short cab ride
(or metro ride) away from the Conference's location of 415 New Jersey
Avenue, N.W. Each hotel should be able to provide an estimate of the
time and cost to reach this address.
We are excited by the
excellent turnout for the 2008 Medical Institute & Conference and look
forward to seeing you next month!
