Greetings Adoption Professionals, Medical
Doctors, Students and Child Welfare Colleagues:
Joint Council's 2008 Medical Institute and Conference promises to be a
valuable, informative and enjoyable event for all. With a theme of
"Creating Permanency Through Families: Intercountry Adoption's Role in
Child Welfare," the 2008 Conference hopes to address the issues facing
adoption practitioners within a broader context of finding safe,
permanent and loving homes for children worldwide.
As in the past, this three-and-a-half day
event promises to bring together intercountry adoption professionals
from all over the nation to share their expertise and insight. We look
forward to a wide variety of programs and speakers, including
practitioners, adoptive parents, members of Congress and other
government representatives. The
2008 event also marks our return to Washington, DC - specifically the
The Liaison Capitol Hill, An Affinia Hotel. Located only minutes away from Union Station
and Ronald Reagan National Airport, the hotel also offers close
proximity to Capitol Hill, the National Mall, Smithsonian museums and
other historic D.C. landmarks. Make plans to attend and bring your
family for a great weekend in the nation's capital.
