Do you want to learn
about international adoption and other means to help children find
permanent, loving families?
Joint Council's Annual
Medical Institute and Conference brings together hundreds of
practitioners in the field of child welfare (particularly intercountry
adoption) to share their insight and expertise.
Volunteers are needed
to assist Joint Council staff with the Medical Institute and Conference
portions of this event (March 26-28, 2009) in Indianapolis,
Indiana.
Volunteers will be at
the front and center of this event, helping staff man the registration
tables, answer participants' questions, introduce speakers, etc. This is
a great opportunity to meet other people in the field and to learn more
about the top issues affecting children in need of permanent homes.
While there is some
flexibility for volunteer schedules, we prefer for people to be
available either the full duration of the Medical Institute and
Conference (Thurs.-Sat.) or the entire Conference portion (Fri.-Sat.).
Volunteers are needed from approximately
8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
Breakfast and lunch
will be included for volunteers. However, non-local volunteers are
responsible for their travel costs and accommodations. We will also
work with volunteers to accommodate their requests to attend up to two
workshop sessions.
More information about
the Conference, including the complete schedule, can be found at
http://www.jcics.org/Conference.htm.
If interested in
volunteering, please contact Joelle Ruben at (703) 535-8045 or
joeller@jcics.org. Please include the
dates/times you are looking to volunteer and whether or not you are
local to Indianapolis.
