The China Center for Adoption Affairs (CCAA) visited the United States at the invitation of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) to attend the Angels in Adoption awards banquet. The CCAA Delegation included Mr. Lu, Director of CCAA, Ms. Chu, Director of the 1st Dept of CCAA (Dossier Reading Dept), Ms. Liu, Director of 2nd Dept of CCAA (Matching Dept), Ms. Zhao, Director of the Filing Dept of CCAA, Ms. Zhang, Main staff of the 1st Dept of CCAA and Ms. Wang, Liaison Office of CCAA and Interpreter.

During their stay, JCICS was honored to host the delegation at a luncheon in Washington, DC with our staff and several of our Board of Directors. This arrangement provided for discussion about our two organizations and we presented a brief PowerPoint presentation to the CCAA delegation to explain more about Joint Council. 

Overall, both meetings were a great success. CCAA has made tremendous strides over the last several years and JCICS is very appreciative of their efforts and congratulates them on their success. One of the many wonderful outcomes from this dialog was to appreciate why CCAA has implemented the appraisal system and to better understand their intent. In the end, both CCAA and U.S. agencies walked away with a better
appreciation and understanding of one another which is exactly what we hoped to accomplish. JCICS would like to thank all who helped make last weeks' meeting possible, the agencies who attended the Denver Conference, and the CCAA delegation.
