Kenya is currently processing adoptions by US citizens on a VERY LIMITED basis.

October 1, 2009 - The U.S. State Department, Office of Children's Issues has issued an Adoption Alert regarding Kenya. To view the alert, click here. Joint Council will continue to closely monitor developments in Kenya and update our website accordingly.

September 5, 2007 - The government of Kenya has not recently indicated any change in its residence requirement policies for foreign adoptive parents.

Kenya plans to accede to the Hague Adoption Convention.
