    Children's Home Society & Family Services (CHSFS) -
    CHSFS offers free information meetings in various locations nationwide for their International and Domestic Adoption Programs. CHSFS also offers a variety of pre- and post-adoption workshops and educational opportunities which are open to all adoptive families through their Adoption Education Center. CHSFS is a nonprofit adoption agency with direct adoption study services in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.     Family Support and Educational Groups
    - Adoptions Together is pleased to offer various family support and educational groups throughout the year. Groups include the "Super-Parenting Support Group" for parents with challenging children looking for strategies to successfully raise their children, "Project Succeed" for adopting and adoptive parents, "Kids Connection" a group for children to explore their feelings about adoption, and "Teen Education & Support" a group for teen adoptees who may struggle with an extra layer of challenges related to their adoption as they enter adolescence.     The ABC’s of Adoption Workshops - Making the decision to adopt can become confusing and frustrating. Prospective adoptive parents need information and support during this phase of the process. This 3 ½ hour seminar is usually offered once a month and will address the decision to adopt, types of adoption, the home study process, medical and financial considerations, and parent/child adjustment issues. Ametz Adoption Program

    Professional Training Programs - The Ametz Adoption Program/JCCA has provided domestic and international private adoption services for over 20 years. As part of this work, there is an emphasis on meeting the needs of clients in the communities in which they live. To do so effectively, Ametz strongly believes an educated professional community is necessary. Ametz will be offering their Training Institute for the fourth year in a row, with this year's offerings geared toward professionals working with pre-adoptive and adoptive families. Each 3-hour course includes a didactic presentation and time for interactive discussion.     Adoptive Parent, Parent-To-Be, and Extended Family Programs - The Ametz Adoption Program/JCCA offers education and support for those before, during and after adopting. "The Survival Guide" Pre-Adoption Group and "Because Kids Don't Come With Instructions" Post-Adoption Group and educational workshops covering a wide variety of subjects meet monthly in several settings. Separate programs for Jewish families are held throughout the year, as well as an annual Infertility, Adoption and the Family Conference. All programs are open to the public and confirmation of attendance is available. The Welcome House Adoption Program of Pearl S. Buck International

    The Welcome House offers informational meetings designed for families and individuals interested in international adoption. The seminars build awareness of the specific process to adopt a child from another country. Welcome House currently has adoption programs in China, Korea, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Hawaii International Child

    HIC holds general information sessions at their Honolulu offices on the first Tuesday of every month from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. Some Saturday sessions are also being held. They welcome all families wanting an introduction to their adoption programs to attend these sessions. HIC also offers various parenting, CPR, and Mandarin Chinese language classes, among others, throughout the year. Life’s Vision International - Adoption and Children’s Humanitarian Aid (Adoption Information Meetings)

China Aid Pack Assistance

  • Are you traveling to China soon?  If so, and you would be willing to carry an aid pack containing items such as warm hats, gloves, socks, baby blankets, bandaids, etc. please contact Homeland Children's Foundation at homelandchina@aol.com.  Families or person traveling should include their name, mailing address, name of the orphanage and province they are traveling to along with the travel dates.
     

Christian World Adoption

Gladney Center for Adoption

  • The Gladney Center for Adoption, a non-profit adoption agency, offers free Information Seminars on International Adoption throughout the year.
